Finally back!

Actually was already back on sunday night, but was lazy to post :P Went to malaysia with my family for 3 days frm fri to sun. i only knew we were going to Tioman island when we reached the port o.o

Día número uno

Woke up early in the morn and took the car with my family to my uncle's hse in malaysia. Had uncle muthu's prata for breakfast on the way. When we reached, we parked the car in the house and took a van/minibus tgt with my uncle's family and an aunt's family, total 12 ppl. Did not drive there coz we were taking a ferry over seas and there wasnt any parking that was safe at the port, since in malaysia you could go shopping and by the time you find that ur car is missing, it could already be in china, thailand, india, brunei, japan, korea and etc at the same time. You would think that taking a van/bus/coach would be dumb and slower than taking a car, but you would be surprised. If you think singapore taxi drivers drive like crazy on expressways, you obviously have not seen malaysian drivers on winding single lane roads.

Once reaching the town of mersing, had lunch and took a ferry. Boats must be one of the most boring modes of transportation. Its like you bounce up and down for a period of time to the noisy churning of the engines, and when you look out, you see the same few mountains and islands, only that now they have moved abit. Flying in a plane is almost the same, minus the bobbling in the waves and the games/movies/many other things you can do using the entertainment system of the tv built into the seat of the person infront of you.

Alighted at some wooden jetty to some kinda chalet resort thingy place called Tioman Beauty Beach, or tbb for short. Sounds stupid though, lol. Its like a chalet and has wooden huts for lodging, a main building for meals, entertainment, games, reception etc, a vball court and a bbq area, all right by the beach, not like the chalets at pasir ris which are nowhere as near to any grains of sand. I think it costs 279 ringgit per person for 3d2n including 6 meals, which is actually quite cheap considering it works out to bout $140. The lodging is not bad, but isnt exactly 5 star either.

Rest of the day spent arnd in the resort and beach doing nth much. Dinner was served "buffet" style.

Día número dos

Breakfast was served at 7/8, and was very early for me seeing tt its the skl hols and i wake up only at noon since theres nth much to do in the morning. Slept on a bench by the beach for a few hrs till lunch, was super breezy and cooling. After lunch, the original plan in the package was for everyone board a boat to go snorkeling and then to shop at some "duty free" shop or sth. End up only my 2 uncles went for it because the majority could not swim or were not interested in wasting a whole day's time going up and down on a boat. Instead, it was decided to trek through the jungle to the neighbouring beach where there were shops and stalls selling food, memorabilia and etc. The local at the resort said it took approx 20 mins, but we ended up taking 1 hour plus. After having some food, we took the easy way out and took a boat back to the resort instead.

Had dinner quite soon after at bout 5pm. Dinner was early coz later that night there was supposed to be a bbq. The bbq was lousier than expected. There was a person working there who would start the bbq and cook the food for us, but the food were all as black as food if it were black, lol. Apparently the genius of a bbq-er use the flame of the charcoal to cook the food, causing the food to be mostly charred. If im not wrong you're actually supposed to use the heat of the charcoal when its white hot to bbq food -.- so while we ate, the charcoal was actually at the best time for cooking but was wasted and used to contribute to global warming instead. So much for a "traditional" bbq. Wento slp after tt.

Día número tres

Woke up at 9+, had breakfast, and soon was time to pack up, had lunch, then took a small boat to the neighbouring jetty we wento ytd as the tide was too low for the ferry to pick us up. Waited quite long for the ferry at the jetty, and it rained halfway. The scenery was actually quite nice as you could see the rain falling with the backdrop of the island and the mists and clouds among the mountains. Bought a pair of slippers at the shops near the port, and traveled back towards home.

Back to home and back to reality, MYE coming in a week and i have yet to revise even read the lecture notes. Hopefully i dont fail or fail too badly, heh.
